I have a MacBook Air with this thingie broken. I don’t know what it is but it looks like a piece of plastic. It’s at the bottom below the fan and heatsink. What is it and how do I replace it?
@gigabit87898 what model MBA? I wonder if you are looking at the hinge (clutch) cover. See if this part looks right. If that is the right part, then use this video to help you with the work. Make sure that you make a guide for the rest of us when you replace it.
With the screen facing up and the clutch cover closest to you, slide the clutch cover to the right and gently lift upwards.
