Sorry for the cut off title. Anyways, my friend’s mom’s boyfriend has a white iPhone 6 that can’t charge. They’ve tried all sorts of cables and power supplies. How do I test whether the charging port is the issue, or the Tristar chip that is at fault? I don’t want to go out and buy a Tristar when the Lightning port is at fault, or vice versa.

We always try and rule out parts first. So if you haven’t got the tools to diagnose the problem the cheapest option would be to replace the charge port and battery first, they only cost a few dollars.  If the phone is still not charging you would move on to the charging IC’s
