How do you test and repair the speedometer that has stopped working but the led odometer still displays. what could be the cause?
Gregory Peris, just like previously mentioned, it sounds more like a Speed sensor or a Cluster issue to me. If your odometer would be out as well, it might be different. To remove the speed sensor disconnect the coupler, remove the holding bolt and twist the sensor out. straight forward job.
Do all the other gauges work? If so then the speedometer cable is probably broken.
I replaced both and my speed meter still dies after 3 miles .My rpm has always kept working don’t know what to do next
I’m having the exact same problem, and have also replaced the speed sensor, but no change. Next thing I’m going to replace is the wiring. Any ideas on how to get a hold of the wiring schematics? Mine is a 06’ kia spectra
Its a wiring issue if it work when car is cold and dies out after couple min. I replaced ever speed sensor and cluster.

Can the speedometer cable be disconnected to reduce acual milage ?
