My iphone 8 with iOS 13.3.1 has a broken screen and I cannot swipe to shutdown the phone. There literally are no valid steps on the internet to shutdown an iphone 8 using only the hardware buttons. The only thing I can find is the steps to hard reset, which is not valid as it causes the phone to turn back on immediately. How can I shut down the phone before beginning the screen replacement repair?
Well there are no ways to shut it down before you attempt the repair but since I’ve dealt with this issue many times, you’re safe to start the repair. Just make sure you disconnect the battery before the display or any other components. Do not use metal tools to disconnect the battery. Take your time and be patient. Best of luck!
