Chosen Solution
Purchased used “TR-40 CRA” via eBay from seller in Oklahoma. I cannot use unit here in California (Bay Area) because unit is “password locked”. I sent seller email requesting old password so I may reset (no response). I unplugged and rebooted system with no success. System appears to have channels programmed for the Oklahoma area. How can I set-up unit for my area if system is “password locked”? Please advise Steve D. stevdrum@sbcglobal.net
Steve Drummond, here is what the manual suggest:“Forgot the Locks password: 1 Locate the Receiver ID number by pressing MENU on the TR-40CRA remote control, selecting Setup, System Setup, then System Information. Write down the last four digits of the Receiver ID (before the dash). 2 To reset your password, press MENU on the TR-40CRA remote control, select Setup, then Locks. Enter the last four digits of your Receiver ID, then select Change Password to choose a new password.” Get the manual from here. Hope this helps, good luck.
