Hello my iphone was working great when all of a sudden I find it dead overnight. After charging it back I noticed it gets very hot and drains the battery like crazy. I have done everything I could find as tips on the net. Reset, hard reset, restore , delete iCloud, add new iCloud, changed frame, battery, checked CPU usage with system monitor… Everything is ok. It’s very frustrating now I fully charged it and went to 37% in 1 hour !! I am out of ideeas even in airplane mode it discharges itself all the same

If you can, remove the EMI shields before soaking in alcohol. Then once it is submerged, clean it gently with a toothbrush or something similar. If that doesn’t work, I have seen lately that a bad U2 chip can cause this problem. It is difficult to find someone capable of that repair, however.

Sound like you have tried a lot of stuff. I know you have an iphone 5 though you might still have the same issue. iPhone 4S (and older) with a dirty/defect docking connector showed just these symptoms. You should check your lightning connector. Start by cleaning it prperly. If that does not help, try to replace it.

It’s clearly a U2 chip issue because I’ve charged my phone with a new cable not original how can I get it changed I have a replacement board.

Also what I can see in the symptoms leading me to believe it’s the chip other than just charging it with the bad cable is that sometimes when I reset or restore the phone it does not start by itself … I need to power it on manually also the phone refused to charge when the battery was flat once and only I’ve got it up again with a charged battery replacement

met the same problem…
