My Viera responds to all commands and goes to “mute” and back to normal. The speakers are switched on. How do I open the back to check to see if any connectors got displaced from the move?
Hi @johnnyjr , Most digital TV receivers do not have “noise” when no signal is present from the antenna as in the old analogue days. Most go to a blue screen or just black with a ’no signal’ message on the screen. I don’t know about yours though Here is a link to the service manual for your TV. When the sentence below the Document preview box changes from This file is downloadable free of charge: …processing… to This file is downloadable free of charge: Get Manual, click on the Get Manual, as this is the download link. Be patient, it takes a little while to find the file. Here is an image taken from the service manual showing that it’s the PA board that has the audio amp and speaker out circuits
(click on image to enlarge for better viewing) Scroll to p.26 to view how to initiate the self check function, (section 8). Looking at it, it seems to indicate that if the audio “data” circuit was faulty as opposed to the amp etc, then the AVSWA display in the self check would show NG (no good) and then you have to check the H board IC2602. (see table on p.27) Hopefully this is of some help.
