My laptop has been abused over the past 5 years. I really love the laptop, other than the extreme weight. I have put off getting this hunk repaired for far too long. I was wondering if there is a way to take it to a store or send it somewhere to get it looked at and see if it is able to be saved to near new capacity, or just beyond repair and not worth it. Feel free to email me at Da.Flightpath21@yahoo.com for a response.
if your after a tune up? save everything important on a memory stick! Then once your happy with everything that you have saved, switch off laptop, then switch back on while pressing F11 top keys above numbers, this should give you option to reset back to factory settings, once this is selected, let laptop do its thing, then on restart you will have a laptop like the first day you brought it,downside is to re-install your memory stick and security. But worth it,cus factory settings gets rid of unwanted crap from your laptop.
Beside any cosmetic issues, A new SSD drive runs $100-$200 depending on brand and capacity. A quality new battery maybe around $60. Memory upgrade (assuming a complete new set for a 16gb upgrade and the laptop does accept it) about $100. This should suffice and well worth it if the retail price of this laptop was really north of $2k USD.
