Hello. Last year, I bought an iPad online, secondhand. I contacted Apple about this, and the person I spoke to said my tablet had been reported stolen a couple weeks before I purchased it. I asked if there was any way I could contact the owner, so that I could either return it, or have the owner remove the lock. They told me that it would be a breach of privacy policy to give me any information regarding the owner. It has been several months, and I still haven’t been able to contact the owner or remove the lock. I don’t know what iOS the tablet runs on, and I have no way to figure it out. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Well, it’s locked forever or until the owner takes it off their iCloud. It should have been returned immediately when you got it. Now you are in possession of stolen property. I would ask Apple how to return it to the owner. Since they are the only ones that know who it is, I would give it to an Apple store it’s worthless to you.
