Hi, I ordered screen replacement part. I don’t know why it has yellow overlay from inside. Is it supposed to be glue, that needs to be melted or is it just an overlay? My iphones screen is cracked and I want to replace it. But it is more complicated than I thought it is and I have trouble removing cracked screen piece from LCD.
Peeling off LCD and re-bonding it on newer front glass is not DIY work. You will need professional equipment and skills, which can easily cost many times more than the phone itself. The cheapest way is to glue the shattered screen onto a flat panel, get ultra thin wires, remove the side bezel, heat up the display the use the wire to cut from flex cable end, slowly cut the LCD off the front panel. The use adhesive solvent to clean the remaining adhesive. Then you need professional fixture to align the LCD on replacement frame, then stick down the LCD. You will need a vacuum chamber to remove air bubbles, so I suggest you never do this on your own.
