I had a cracked screen but the phone was functioning fine. I replaced the front panael last night and started it back up. It was working but I couldn’t get my finger print recognition to work. I was working in settings to get that going and after about 10 minutes my phone screen went dark. When I turn it on you can see some back light going on with a faint grid looking pattern but the screen dark. Any suggestions?
This is a belated answer so hopefully it can be of use to folks who search for and find this question. If your screen assembly is not working, you either have a defective screen or you damaged something else while doing your own repair. Go back through this guide and double check all the steps. Also be careful to always disconnect the battery before disconnecting the screen otherwise you may damage the backlight circuit. You could try installing the original cracked screen to see if the issue is screen or phone related. Additionally, I would try these steps: Double check that the flex connectors are properly seatedVisually inspect, preferably with magnification, the condition of the connectors on both the flex cables and the logic boardAlso look to see if any components appear missing or damagedShine a flashlight on the screen to see if you have a very dim image. This would be indicative of a blown backlight circuit. [http://Long Screw Damage|Long screw damage]? Were you careful to keep track of all the screws during the repair? Putting the wrong screw in the wrong place can critically damage the logic board. Hopefully your problem is modular in nature otherwise it may require a micro-soldering repair.
