Well, I saw someone else’s post here, and figured I would attempt my own. I purchased an SNES the other day, but to my dismay, I am only getting a black screen. Things I’ve tried: Multiple TelevisionsI tried different AV cables, also tried RF cablesI tried ejecting and inserting the game multiple timesI tried multiple games Things I know: When powering on the machine, the TV acts as if there is an input, giving off a sort of flicker, and then goes to the ‘AV No Signal’I AM getting power to the device, the red light is on If anyone might be able to help me, it’d be much appreciated.
You may want to open it up, and check for damage to the motherboard, or corrosion, that may be causing it not to function. Here is a guide that you can use to get to it.
Its worth looking into replacing the CIC chip on the board. The one you would need is the “LOCK” one. Of course this may not be the issue but if you are ok with soldering on the board and you can get the PIC chip easily I would recommend trying it since you’ve tried everything else. https://sd2snes.de/blog/cool-stuff/super…
