its getting very hot, I want to know if the fans work
The machine has just one fan, as all 13" MBPs. Indeed they tend to get rather warm. Apple (Foxconn?) uses a inferiour brand of thermal paste, so replacing it with something like Arctic MX2 (very good) brings a lot of improvement. Also, these machines tend to gather up dust rather quickly, so a good cleanout is recommended. Beware though, removing the logicboard from these machines is rather tricky, due to the microphone cable under the board. Be very careful.
