Hello all, my CPU is an i3 4160. so my question is that can my CPU survive this? or it will die?? i could buy an air cooler can this help..if it dose what kind of cooler should i buy? which i can use with the i7 i am gonna buy in the future. i am not worried abt bottleneck. cz im gonna buy a i7 4790 later I didn’t find the right solution from the internet. I’m not sure how a more powerful graphics card can burn out a CPU. What wattage is your power supply? The worst that’s going to happen if you have a good enough power supply is that the CPU is just going to bottleneck the graphics card and nothing else. I have a EVGA GTX 1070 FTW ACX 3.0 and it’s pretty good, well any 1070 variant with at least two fans is good. Any decent 500W-650W power supply is plenty for that graphics card. And I see they have already answered your question well.
