i’m searching the part marked in the picture. is there any chance to find a new one ? the old one is dead - it gets hot after the iMac is switched on - the iMac wont start, some times it shows the red led - sometimes it switches immediately off. after that, i startet searching on the logic board and burned my finger tip on this part
Hi, To get the part would be one problem, the bigger problem is that the solder points are under that IC. Without the proper tools there is no chance to solder the new part in place, or even desolder the old part. BTW, that an IC gets hot doesn’t necessary means that the IC is damaged, maybe a different part is damaged and the IC gets hot as a result of that.
