Hey, can anyone help what should be done when the screen does not work? Apparently, the display panel is broken, the backlight is not visible, but the picture comes on when it reflects with a flashlight. Is it possible to fix this or should I change my display panel? Info: This iMac screen stopped working suddenly, no flickering, etc ..

Thank you! Update (12/30/2018) Thanks for the answer. How much could this cost? Yes, my iMac has been opened once. Here too, this “part” has broken, but should it not have an effect? i’m right?

Personally I would write to Apple and explain your situation in a polite and full manner, include the photos and express how hugely disappointed you are that a computer that cost you X amount and is Y months old is suffering such a major problem. I wouldn’t get aggressive or even quote any legal jargon - just set your case out and ask them what they can do about this. I would also suggest you send this e-mail to the Steve Jobs email address (sjobs@apple.com), this circumvents the first line of Apple customer care and puts you in touch with Executive Relations who have far more authority.

More likely the backlight LED driver circuit on the logic board needs service. Has any one opened your system before?

A bit late now but I had the same issue. The display power socket on the logic board had a single bent pin, I tested continuity, straightened it out, and made sure the cable was properly seated and that fixed it. Super stressful upgrade but I save over a grand from Apple prices.
