So , not so recently my phone started booting up with error message “System process isn’t responding" I figured it was some sort of irrelevant bug as I didn’t notice any performance issues. Recently this started happenings , I would boot up my phone to be greeted with same error message but this time the part of the area I needed to touch “OK" was not responding , which was weird because when I held down the power button that same area was responsive when I clicked OK to power off the device. After fiddling with the phone for some time , I noticed several things . Firstly once I booted up the phone I had limited time in order to click OK on system process isn’t responding before the lower part of the screen became unresponsive . Then after that the lower half of the screen would become unresponsive and I am unable to click on anything below the half point except to type , which made me even more baffled. After this I decided to turn on that little thing which I cannot recall the name of that let’s you see where you touched the screen and would you know my presses are recognized . I am left feeling baffled over all of this , I don’t know if it is an ad or something else but please if anyone can help me out with this I would be very thankful , if you need any detail that is relevant I will try my best to provide it , thanks anyone in advance Update (02/16/2020) I have found the solution thanks to @jayeff ‘s tips , i did not start uninstalling apps , apparently by going into settings»apps and then disabling google play store and one more thing which i do not remember the name of and ever since i dissabled it i wasnt able to find it in apps anymore , if i remember the name i will definitely post it . Either way my problem was fixed , it seems that google play store was making some sort of conflict while trying to update some apps , ever since yesterday i didnt have a problem with the screen going numb.
Hi @stodone , What is the make and model number of the phone? Try starting the phone is ‘safe mode” and check if the problem is still there. Search online for (insert phone make and model number) safe mode to see how this is done. If it works OK then a downloaded app is the cause of the problem. You will need to uninstall each downloaded app, one by one and test the phone in normal mode between each uninstall until it works OK. When it does work OK the last downloaded app that was uninstalled was the culprit. If still no good in safe mode try wiping the phone’s cache partition and check if this resolves the problem. Search online for (insert phone make and model number) wipe cache partition to see how this is done. If still no good try resetting the phone, using the phone’s factory restore feature (aka hard reset, master reset) to see if it is a hardware or software problem. Be aware that a factory restore will erase all your data and downloaded apps. It will restore the phone to its’ factory default condition, so backup the phone before performing a factory reset. Once you have backed up the phone to the cloud or a PC using the phone’s backup feature, factory restore the phone using the phone’s factory restore feature. Once it has been restored to factory default check if the phone works OK. If not you have a hardware problem If it works OK, restore the phone using the backup you made earlier by utilizing the phone’s restore feature. Once it has been restored to what it was, check if it still works OK. If so the reset has resolved the problem.
