I had dropped my iPad mini 2 years ago and the power button got jammed and the screen shattered. When I had a girl in my class try and get it loose it shattered even more. It still works, but the power button is jammed and I do NOT want to shatter it even more. I have a new iPad now, but how can I fix this? I hate using assistive touch to turn it off.
You’ll have to remove the digitizer first and inspect the power button to see why it is jammed. It could be caused by a physical deformation of the housing, which you could redress or it may be caused to something obstructing it internally.
