I have a defect ipad pro 11 (2018). A repair store has made me the following pictures and said a repair is not worth it. Can someone tell me what exactly is defect here and how to repair it? I replaced the screen, but the screen dont show me any Data/picture. I connect it to an external monitor with usb-c. This is working fine and it shows me the ipad screen. The touchscreen on the Display is working, I see the movements on the external monitor. The information I found was, that this connector is for apple pencil. But why does the screen stay black? I hope someone can help me. thank you very much for every hint or help

I have some more information. The ipad works normal connected to a hdmi and external monitor. I’m located in switzerland, this repair shops realy like to pull out all of your money (550$) for a repair. In this case I can buy a new one. This is the reason I make my own research. Can you tell me what this connectors are for? One looks like burnd, is this a easy thing to repair? @hootonberg can you help? as far as i know there are no technical schemas available for this ipad. so i need someone who has knowledge of this logicboard. are there any resistors missing?

It’s hard for me to tell what’s going on in the pictures but it seems fine, at least to my eyes. There’s a possibility that the replacement screen was defective or on some devices, if you don’t disconnect the battery while replacing the screens, you can blow the backlight or image circuits. You’ve done enough diagnostic alone to determine that the device works and it should actually in fact, be worth fixing. You’ll want to have a skilled micro soldering tech perform this repair as an inexperienced tech can cause more damage and really mess the device up. I highly recommend either iPad Rehab, Rossmann Repair, STS Telecom, or VCC Board Repairs. They all have youtube channels you can check out and they’re very knowledgeable. I’ve personally been to iPad Rehab for their board repair school and I’ve personally used VCC Board Repairs for repairs I can’t handle in my own repair shop. But before you send the device off to either of them, at least try one more screen just to be safe.
