hi guys.. this is my first time here… i got a iPad 12.9 1st gen and when i’m using it sometimes it just dead suddenly, when plugged in to charger it will starts up again and always reboots on Apple logo, failed to load to m i unplugged it, wait for 10 minutes plugged in to charger, it will starts normally, i unplugged the charger… suddenly after 1 minute it was dead again…. battery health checked with 3utools its 90% capacity.. i was thinking of changing the battery .. but i suspect is there something wrong besides the battery? is auto shutdown and restarts on Apple Logo signs of a broken battery? i did try to restore using iTunes, it went well but after i unplugged the lightning cable from charger or computer it will suddenly dead … maybe some of you guys have the same problem? did changing battery fix it?
Battery capacity unfortunately is not enough to tell battery is in good shape..if it was left drained a few times it might show a good nominal capacity and be nonetheless in bad conditions and unable to supply the needed current. These portable devices are not designed to run off power cable if the battery is dead. In my opinion a battery replacement should be attempted as first option. If that wouldn’t solve the issue the symptoms might point to a board failure too, especially if the iPad was charged with aftermarket cables, but that would require microsoldering skills and should be assessed only after a known good battery has been tried.
