hi, i got an iPhone 5 with a little problem. if i plug it in the charger, it charges normallyi. f i leave the phone in standby, it takes about 2 hours to fully charge. normal but if i use it while charging, sometimes it charger 2 to 5 % and then stops until you let it sit for 3 minutes and the same thing happens. it just doesn’t charge when you use it. the battery has already been replaced. today i used another new battery and charging port and the same thing happens. here is a picture of the phone after i tested the new battery and charging port.
as you can see, absolutely clean on the interior. no water damage. i have heard things about a 9 pin switch MOSFET and the NXP 1608A1 host controller IC. being faulty. but i can run the entire battery flat and still charge it no problem. nor does it auto turn on when connecting the battery or drain/heat up unusually. so i doubt it is faulty. but i dont know. does anybody have had a similar issue, and does anyone know a fix for this? thanks in advance
Tristar Charging IC (1608A1) does not appear to be at fault as you can charge the iPhone while the battery goes flat. Does the charging cable go into the charging port socket fully or is there a gap? If there’s a gap you’ll need something like a toothpick to carefully clean out the debris / gunk stuck inside the port. Careful when doing so as there are 8 pins that can get damaged if you push against them.
