I replaced the screen and ditigizer (ifixit) put it back together and it worked perfectly. Charged it and I noticed the battery was hot sit I decided to change it with a new ifixit battery, put it back together and now the phone won’t turn on. Pulled it apart rechecked the connections… still doesn’t work, even tried putting the old battery back still nothing. What did I do wrong? Could I have damaged the new ditigizer when reinstalling the screen? Any ideas
Several things could have gone wrong here. I would encourage you to go back through this guide to see if you got all the steps right. A few things to consider: You may have dislodged some tiny components on the logic board when you disconnected the connectors. Inspect the board with magnification to see if anything is amiss. You may have incorrectly inserted the wrong screws in the wrong holes of the screen bracket. This is a common mistake and it can cause extensive damage (aka Long-Screw Damage). If you have a digital caliper, you may want to double check the lengths and insure they are in the right spots. You may have a defective screen. You could try to connect the original screen to see if that one works.Consider just plugging in the battery and dock, no screen, cameras or sensors. Then connect the phone to an iTunes enabled computer and see if it is recognized or not.
