Chosen Solution

Hey I’m new to the ifixit forum and I need all of the help I could get. My iPhone 6 died while it was getting charged by my Imac. It was at a 100% percent and it just suddenly died. It wasn’t hot or anything I was just browsing social media. And yes I tried DFU/recovery mode. The phone isn’t frozen it’s completely off, I also tried charging it more and trying to start it but nothing is working. Why would it die at 100%? Over charging? David

The only thing I could think of is battery went faulty. Now for this to happen is extremely rare in this case.

Did you try pressing the home button and lock button at the same time for about 20 seconds? It worked for me

my phone dies all the time on the charger, and i haven’t gotten around to go get a new battery, so this is a weird solution, but i have just grabbed a hairdryer and then held it in a close proximity to the bottom of the back of the phone while it is charging. it turns on within 30 seconds of heating up. either its because the heat raises the amount of power delivered to the device, or there is something to do with the overheating alert needing to be necessary. whatever the case, this works.

I opened up my phone, and saw my battery, wondering if I could take it out, BLOOD COLD, I took off the battery carefully, and Placed it back in after 5-10 seconds, then i closed my phone, plugged it into the computer, and my phone got noticed by the mac! But my display is still black. I pressed the home button and held it for 10 seconds and my apple logo appeared, WARNING! YOU DONT WANT YOUR DATA GONE, DONT DO THIS IF U DONT WANT UR DATA GONE it completely restarted my phone, but if you want your phone working again this is how…

My iPhone 6 has a black screen I’ve tried the 15 second rule, holding down both buttons. I can’t get the Apple icon to come on.
