Hi, I noticed a line on my iPhone a few days ago and today I noticed that the screen is a bulge near the volume buttons. I looked online and a few said that it probably is a battery issue, can anyone confirm this or know what the cause is?? Will there be any long term damage done if I keep using it for a while before bringing it to a shop to fix? Much appreciated!
The vertical blue hue tint on the second photo attached to your post may be an indication of the battery expanding and pushing against the screen causing that mark. For the gap near the volume button area that is common on replacement screens. I recommend getting the phone inspected internally to make sure that it isn’t the battery expanding and pushing against the screen. Edit: Forgot to ask, does the gap on the top left hand side run all the way along to the lower left too? If yes, it is probably the battery at fault then. Here is a guide and link to parts if it is indeed the battery and would like to replace it yourself: iPhone 6 Battery Replacement iPhone 6 Battery
Hi Ben, thanks for your answer! It runs down quite a bit yes but it doesn’t run all the way to the bottom of the left side, the gap is most noticeable around the volume keys. I do plan on fixing it myself if it is a faulty battery, however I’ve never fixed or even opened my iPhone ever before. I should be fine if I follow the instructions 100% correctly right?
I think it better way to keep my phone safe from damages
