Hello there! I bought a new battery because the battery in my iphone had swollen significantly, but after replacing it my iphone turn on only when in charge, but it just shows the apple logo and then the screen became black. I also tried the old battery, but it doesn’t work too, i’m sure to have followed all the right step because it’s not the first time i replace the battery, but apparently i have dameged something if even with the old battery it doesnt turn on. I connected it to itunes, it says that the connected iphone have some problem, and it suggest me to let it format the phone. Could this solve the problem, even if the problem should be hardware? I don’t know anything else i can do. Thanks. I’m sorry for my english, it’s not my first language.
Was the phone working properly with the swollen battery? If so, then something went wrong during the repair. Double check the conditions of all the connectors, on the logic board and also on the flexes. Also closely inspect the condition of the flexes as they can tear easily. If that looks good, then try to remove the screen completely (disconnect the battery first) and then connect it to iTunes to see if the error message goes away. If you still have the same problem but have a backup of your data, then try to restore the phone as iTunes suggests. Otherwise, you will want to have the phone looked at by an experienced micro-solderer.
