Dropped my iPhone 6 - display showed a thick white line going vertically down the screen When I turned it on the screen was black but picked up by iTunes Opened up the phone, disconnected the four display connectors near the top then the battery connector (realise this is not the ideal order) Reconnected everything - phone is not picked up by iTunes but the top near the display connectors (motion sensor, microphone etc) is very hot I’ve disconnected the battery again Have I bricked this phone?! Any help greatly appreciated!
When it gets hot, there’s a short in the area. Try not reattaching any of the upper connectors, just plug the battery and lightning cable to confirm it’s not a logic board issue. Short probably comes from camera/proximity/ear speaker flex cable but it could be screen too. If the iphone is correctly communicating with iTunes you should probably change the full screen assembly, not a big price difference with plain lcd.
