IPhone 6 won’t turn on and therefore I can’t recover my pictures. When I plug it into the wall charger, a red battery empty symbol appears but the phone doesn’t charge. The apple shop said it doesn’t appear to be the battery, any ideas what the issue might be?? Should I pay for a company to attempt to fix, or give it a go myself? The pictures are important to my wife Many thanks! Update (05/08/2019)
Gents, I’m extremely grateful for you taking the time to review my post and provide a response. Attached is an image of the phone while connected to the main supply. please note the cracked glass/screen has not impacted the phones usage and was there prior to the issue. Let me know if this changes your prognosis? Many thanks!
If the shop you were at has indeed tried a battery replacement to no avail, you are left with a possibly faulty charging dock or a faulty charging circuit. You could try the first one on a DIY basis, not too of a difficult job and you can get the part here at iFixit store too, herebelow I’ll link you the guide for replacement. If that doesn’t solve your problem, you’ll have to revert to a microsoldering Pro to get charging circuit fixed, that requires tools and especially skills one can’t learn overnight. iPhone 6 Lightning Connector Assembly Replacement
